This Friday morning, probably early, we will be in West Bloomfield with Kaitlyn.. so she can get her 2nd set of ear tubes, also this time they will be removing her adenoids.
She had gotten her first set of ear tubes when she was about a yr and a half and is now requiring a 2nd set. Her E.N.T Dr believes that by taking her adenoids out, we will see a decrease in all the nasal drainage she battles.
As they are slightly enlarged right now.
We are certainly hoping that is the case, as she constantly has some sort of runny nose.
The reason she has the need for ear tubes is because of excessive fluid around her ear drums.
This little gal has never had more than two ear infections in her life.
It is all due to the constant fluid build up surrounding her ear drums.
The ear tubes will greatly help the fluid to drain properly and she will be able to also hear
at a normal range and NOT sound like she's under water! (poor baby!)
I am hoping this will be the last set of ear tubes for her!
I gotta say I am not looking forward to Friday, for her sake.
This will be her 13th time for general anesthesia and it just saddens me, as a Mama.
It shouldn't have to be said of a little girl of her age (3 yrs) that she has been "put under"
13 times... it's just not right.
I don't want her to have to spend another entire day in a hospital, getting yet another procedure done.
Yes, I know that ear tube placement and even adenoid removal is quite normal now a days.
But, to this Mama it's another time to watch her go through another surgery, more anesthesia, more sitting in a stuffy waiting room.. wondering how she's doing.
But, I know as for Kaitlyn ... it's just another procedure.. it's just another hospital and Dr.
She'll come out of anesthesia just fine and be more than ready to get out of dodge. haha
Thank God above that she has always responded to anesthesia well!!
I know some people react horribly and I am so glad that is NOT her! PTL!
I know this is all for her benefit and will help her SO much.
I just wish she didn't have to go through another surgery (even a same day one) and more anesthesia. :(
I just wanted to give a little update and ask my dear praying friends to think of her on Friday and say
a prayer that it would all go well for Kaitlyn :)
We greatly appreciate all your kind words and thoughts and most of all prayers!
I will update her blog, to let you all know how it went as soon as I can.
Thank you!
