Please forgive me for not updating it more often, life can get so very busy at times!
Since the news of our 3rd baby, on her way.. I've been pretty busy.
We are all doing well, no one is sick!
If you remember last winter, that is a HUGE improvment for us.
Especially for little Kaitlyn, she was SO sick last winter.. catching every germ known to man!
She has been doing so well this winter with sickness, and colds.
It has a lot to do with prayer and eating healthier I believe!
She's been doing well with her 3rd cast, and getting on just fine.
She accepted her 3rd cast with so much ease, I think she's getting used to casting.. and it's not such a shock anymore when she goes to get a new one on.
She's still running, jumping and climbing everything in sight with it on. haha
She even likes to slide around on our hard wood floors, with her cast...it's pretty funny to watch. haha
We haven't had any issues with her cast, as far as accidents ect. in it.
I will say that this 3rd cast has gotten a lot dirtier than the first two, probably because I've stopped killing
myself.. trying to keep it super clean! ( I don't think that's even possible!) haha
Your probably wondering if it's been hard on me to care for her in her cast, while I've been pregnant.
Well, I am not aloud to pick her up or lift her, bc IN cast she weighs about 45 pounds (but it can feel heavier than that!) and that's far past the my wieght limit of things I can lift.
At first, this really seemed to brake her little heart, bc I was no longer lifting her / walking around with her on my hip ect. So what I have to do, is sit down and let her crawl up on my lap.
That has at least satisfied her enough and she's well over the fact, I can't pick her up :)
She's really not difficult to care for in her cast, I just have to make sure she stays as dry and clean, as I can.
So it's really no more difficult, being pregnant :)
She's got two more weeks in this cast, we will be taking it off on the 11th of Feb.
that will make 11 1/2 weeks in her cast.
She is MORE than ready to have it off right now, she's letting me know that everyday.
This morning she woke up, and acted very much NOT like herself.
She was fussy and asking me to take her cast off, she even tried un-taping herself.
She's been laying around a lot too, these are all signs that she's ready for it to be OFF.
It makes me sad to watch her this way, but I constantly reassure her :)
Later this afternoon, I found her sitting in our empty tubby.. just sitting there. Sooo sad.
She never turns the water on, she knows better now.. and wouldn't.
She has amazing self control that way, for a two year old. You gotta give her, her props on that one!
Last week we gave her a "cast makeover", I take her duct tape shopping when she's about 2 or 3 weeks
away from getting a cast off.
She picks whatever color/print she wants and buy it for her and tape her all her up.. in new tape :)
She LOVES this, it makes her feel "new" and refreshed :)
Just some updates :
She saw her Neurosurgen last week, for her 8 month check up.
He said she looks great and her surgery incision healed up very nicely!
He wants her to have a MRI, when she comes out of this cast.
She will probably be getting one, once every year for a little while.. to continue to monitor things.
He expects her to have to further problems, but he always airs on the safier side.
SO, we are now trying to schedule her for that while she's out of cast, and are working on getting
her a date for her 4th cast to be applied.
Please pray that she continues to stay healthy, it is SO very important for her!
She needs to be healthy for the MRI and new cast... as she will be sedated for both.
Also, that she will not be out of cast for more than 2 to 3 weeks, and just that we can work with
all these apts. and schedules in that amount of time. ugh
Thank you for each and every one of you, that take the time to pray and care for my daughter!
Also, to take the time to read Kaitlyns blog and website :)
