Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Tethered Spinal Cord in May of 2012, through her yearly MRI check-up.
On June 29th 2012, she underwent a De-tethering surgery for the tether. She was in the hospital for 4 days and did remarkably well.
While the recovery was hard and she was in a lot of pain at times, she came through once again with flying colors!
Recovery at home went better than we had thought it would, she didn't give it two days.. before she was already trying to go back to all her normal activities.
Kaitlyn's 6 week post-op apt. went very well, the Dr. was very pleased with how her incision has healed.
She had a total of 23 stitches on the incision line.
He said that this surgery normally takes 3 to 6 months to fully heal on the inside.
She still has days that she is sore in her back, but we take these days as they come and go on.
Kaitlyn is a remarkably strong little girl!
